Clifford Blomstrom Pillager, Minn.

Service for Clifford Earl Blomstrom, 65, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Blomstrom, who was born in Minnesota, died Thursday.

He grew up and graduated from high school in Pillager and joined the Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict.

After his military service Mr. Blomstrom moved to California and worked as a lineman for the Edison Co.

He moved to Sandpoint in the 1970s and worked for Harp Line Construction in Montana and Northern Lights Electric Co., in Sandpoint until retiring.

Mr. Blomstrom then moved to Minnesota.

He was a member of the Sandpoint American Legion.

Mr. Blomstrom was preceded in death by his wife, Julie.

Survivors include a stepson, Mike Cramer of Sandpoint; three stepdaughters, Linda Shea, Blanche Walker and Peggy Finnicum; a brother, Albert Blomstrom of Chewelah, Wash.; two sisters, Alice Gangestad and Norma Woodhouse, both of Minnesota; and six grandchildren.

Paul McKinney Emida, Idaho

No service will be held for Paul McKinney, 74, at his request. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McKinney, who was born in North Carolina, died Thursday.

He grew up in North Carolina and then lived in Baltimore before serving with the Army during World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. McKinney returned to Baltimore after his military discharge and worked as a construction superintendent.

He sold his home in 1969 and traveled throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada and bought property near Emida in 1973.

Mr. McKinney moved to Emida in 1984.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carolyn; a daughter, Carol Koelbel of Baltimore; three brothers; and four sisters.

Mary Grant Coeur d’Alene

Visitation for Mary Louise Grant, 70, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Hayden Lake Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Grant, who was born in Utah, died Friday.

She grew up in Utah and graduated from high school there. She went on to attend one year at Utah State University and Brigham Young University.

Mrs. Grant moved to Priest Lake, Idaho, before settling in Coeur d’Alene in 1953. She was active in the Mormon Church, serving three missions.

Survivors include her husband, Darwin; a son, Kerry Grant of Yakima; three daughters, Mara Spencer of Pullman, and Patrice Zysk and Lisa Campbell, both of Missouri; one brother, Ted Rowland, and one sister, Claire Bagley, both of Utah; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Hazel Bjornstad Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Hazel E. Bjornstad, 88, will be at 11 a.m. held Thursday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene.

Mrs. Bjornstad, who was born in Hudiksval, Sweden, died Saturday.

She immigrated to the United States in 1919. She lived in Minnesota and moved to Coeur d’Alene the same year, where she attended school.

Mrs. Bjornstad was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper and co-owned a fuel business before retiring in 1969.

Her husband of 69 years, years, Ray, died March 13.

Survivors include a son, Jim Bjornstad of Coeur d’Alene; a brother, Inear Holmblad of Spokane; and one granddaughter.

Donald McShirley Coeur d’Alene

No service will be held for Donald Lee McShirley, 72, at his request. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McShirley, who was born in Yorktown, Ind., died Monday.

He grew up and graduated from high school in Yorktown and then served with the Navy before getting a discharge in 1945 due to injuries sustained in action.

Mr. McShirley settled in California after his military service and worked for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring in 1976.

He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1977 and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. McShirley was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Anna.

Survivors include a brother, Charles McShirley of Yorktown; a sister, Alice Scott of Yorktown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Myrtle Bain Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Myrtle E. Bain, 97, will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Community Methodist Church in Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bain, who was born in Chippewa Lake, Mich., died Monday.

She lived in Boise before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1937.

Mrs. Bain was a homemaker and a former Rebekah Lodge member.

She was a member of the Emerson Club, the Birthday Club, and the First United Methodist Church in Coeur d’Alene.

Her husband of 61 years, Clare, died in 1986.

Survivors include a sister, Wilma Bahm of Kalispel, Mont.; a sister in-law, one brother in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hazel (Everle) Shelton Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Graveside service for Hazel (Everle) Shelton, 74, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Shelton, who was born in California, died Saturday.

She lived in California until moving to Bonners Ferry in 1971 and was a foster mother.

Mrs. Shelton bought a dairy in Moyie Springs in 1972 and later owned a dairy in the Deer Park/Copeland area near Bonners Ferry.

She was involved in local 4-H Clubs, Cub Scouts, PTA and Brownies.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Bob; three sons, John Shelton of Lake Stevens, Wash., Bill Shelton of Oregon and James Shelton of Bonners Ferry; four daughters, Nancy Wilson, Edith Myers and Theresa Shelton, all of Bonners Ferry, and Carmen Miller of Colville, Wash.; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Charles Dixon Spokane

Graveside service for Charles Herbert Dixon, 84, will be at 11:30 a.m. today at the Pines Cemetery. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dixon, who was a 58-year resident of Spokane, died Sunday.

He was born in Potlatch, Idaho, and was a retired carpenter.

Mr. Dixon was a member of the Eagles Lodge.

His first wife, Ora Mae Dixon, preceded him in death, and his second wife, Dorothy Kiddoo, whom he married in 1964, died in 1987.

Survivors include a brother, Lewis Dixon of Lewiston; a sister, Vivian Johnson of O’Fallon, Mo.; a stepson, George Kiddoo of Spokane; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Mooney and Rosalie Descoteaux, both of Spokane, and Margaret Denton of Bellingham; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
