Backcountry medicine

A 72-hour wilderness first-responder course on medical emergencies is being sponsored in Spokane May 6-14 by the city Parks and Recreation Department.

The intensive course goes beyond traditional first-aid to deal with situations in the backcountry, where help is not a phone call away. Info: Mike Aho, 625-6246.
