Mandatory Drug Testing

The Bonner County School Board is considering a proposal to extend mandatory, random drug testing of athletes to Sandpoint High School.

Athletes at Priest River Lamanna High School are subject to the drug tests as part of a pilot project for the district. Students, parents and administrators debated the subject at a meeting last week. Final approval of the testing could come as early as next week.

It’s an issue of public interest and we would like to hear your thoughts. We plan to publish as many letters to the editor as possible about this.
