Cnn Anchor Top Choice For Gma Post

Jim Moret of CNN has the inside track to become the next co-host of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

The network reportedly is deep in talks with Moret, who anchors a CNN prime-time newscast and hosts “Showbiz Today,” about joining the “GMA” line-up as permanent host.

The once-dominant morning program has suffered severe ratings woes of late, and the network has been looking for a way to infuse more life into the show. Insiders say that the network is looking to replace current co-anchor Kevin Newman, who hasn’t made much of a jolt in his post.

The network reportedly has been talking to several journalists about the job, but Moret is definitely the top candidate at this point. The one big catch: Moret remains under contract with CNN for another year and a half, and it’s unclear whether the network brass will be willing to let him go early.
