Border League girls

The Border League standings became more congested Friday while girls leaders Post Falls and Moscow were taking a breather.

Shaylia Davis scored 20 and Coeur d’Alene broke ahead 21-5 during a 52-40 win at East Valley.

CdA (5-2 league) tied Moscow for second place, one-half game behind Post Falls (6-2). Lake City also is 5-2 after defeating West Valley 72-33.

EV (2-1) opened the night in third place but dropped into a tie for fifth.

Laura Dodge had 10 rebounds, and she and Marni Hayes scored 12 apiece as the visiting Timberwolves defeated the Eagles.

WV led 8-4 before the Timberwolves roared back.

Kara Weitman scored 20 points, and Amanda Krogh and Tanya Birchler added seven rebounds apiece to guide a 40-21 edge as the Blackhawks defeated the visiting Bantams.
