Tar Heels Back On Top
North Carolina and Duke continue alternate the top spot in The Associated Press men’s basketball poll.
North Carolina received 68 of 70 first-place votes and 1,748 points from the national media panel to reclaim No. 1. Duke has 1,624 points, 16 more than No. 3 Arizona. Kansas is fourth.
UCLA dropped to ninth following its loss to Oregon. Stanford, which lost three of four, dropped from 9th to 14th. Princeton was 10th, its first Top Ten ranking in more than 30 years.
Tennessee held its customary spot at No. 1 in the AP women’s basketball poll, collecting all 39 first-place votes.
Stanford was sixth, while Arizona and Illinois were tied for ninth. Washington climbed to 17th.
UNLV center Keon Clark has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules, the school announced.
