Amaretto Cappuccino Nice But Far From The Real Thing
Modern man (and woman, for that matter) has become dependent on machines in the kitchen for everything from baking bread to making coffee.
Maxwell House’s line of instant, just-add-water cappuccino mixes promises “the magic without the machine.” The amaretto version we served to The Spokesman-Review’s reader food panel was deemed pleasant, but not particularly close to the real thing.
When it comes to machine politics, we know who gets their vote.

Comments: “Smells better than it tastes. Has a rich almond smell but a weak almond taste. Needs to be creamier. If it was amaretto, I couldn’t tell.” - Ann Finke
“This is nice, but it’s not coffee.” - Eileen Bakken
