Ex-Packers Star Dies
Lionel Aldridge, who played on three of Green Bay’s championship teams in the 1960s, was found dead in his apartment Thursday.
Aldridge, who suffered from mental illness and became homeless after his football career ended, was 57.
His daughter had gone to check on her father and saw him through a window, police Sgt. Glenn Wagner said.
“At this time it appears to be natural causes, but the medical examiner is still conducting an investigation to determine an exact cause,” Wagner said.
Aldridge, a defensive end, played nine seasons with the Packers, from 1963-1971.
