Robert De Niro was detained for nine hours and grilled by Paris police and a magistrate investigating an international call-girl ring.
De Niro “never paid for a woman in his life,” said his attorney, Georges Kiejman.
As for reports that the actor’s name appeared in an address book seized as part of the inquiry, Kiejman said: “It’s possible, if you know the number of women who are pretty and ravishing who have his phone number.”
Kiejman, who filed a complaint for violation of freedom of movement and right to privacy, said De Niro was “a little angry, but he wants to forget, though he’s not ready to forgive.”
The lawyer accused the magistrate handling the case of simply trying to stir up some publicity, adding: “The name of Robert De Niro is like a jewel for a judge.”
