Gore Annexation Gets Approval

Post Falls annexed 27.5 acres along state Highway 41 between 12th and 16th avenues at the council meeting Tuesday night.

The council directed staff to draw up an annexation agreement with property owner Joseph Gore that would zone the property for community commercial services. That zoning would allow for retail- and office-type development, said Gary Young, planning and building director.

In the annexation agreement, the city stated that sewer services are not available to the property and may not be for some time. The city is working on a master plan for sewer services in the city.

The Gore annexation is the fourth near Highway 41 that the council has examined in the past couple of years, Young said. He recommended that the council consider annexing additional property along the Highway 41 corridor - such as El Rancho and Chateau mobile home parks - in the future.
