Moscow Takes 4th With Win Over Bf

Moscow held Bonners Ferry to just three fourth-quarter points, winning 55-36 to claim the A-2 consolation title in Nampa.
Courtney Goetz’s 13 points led the Bears (21-4). Moscow had 18 points from their bench.
Sarah Walter scored 17 and Kara Braniff chipped in 13 for the Badgers (18-7), who had only two other players score and those for just six points.
In other A-2 action, Shelley won its third state title of the 90s with a 51-42 win over Jerome. Melissa Jensen scored 21 points for Shelley.
Jerome was led by sophomore guard Cyrita Warner with 13 points and senior forward Angela Kulm with eight.
Shelley led 22-16 at halftime, and increased its lead 34-24 in the third quarter while being outscored by one point in the fourth.
Alisha Hayden scored 14 and Megan McOmber had 13 as American Falls defeated Sugar-Salem 52-31 for third place.

Lapwai claimed its first state title since 1989 with a 63-49 win over Homedale. Lapwai was led by Veneice Guillory and Jalene Powaukee’s 20 points each.
Ashleigh Barnes scored 13 points and Carrilee Acor pulled down 14 rebounds as Butte County claimed the third spot with a 54-35 win over West Jefferson.
Ginger Schrenk scored 14 points and Angie Pickup combined with Anna Bateman to score 24 as Delco defeated West Side 42-29 in the consolation game.
A-4 tournament
Troy won its fifth state title of the decade with a 62-34 win over Sho-Ban. Jessica Johnson scored 22 and Lindy Kirkland had 20 for the Trojans as they outscored ShoBan 20-5 from the free-throw line.
Robin Southwick knocked down two free throws with 22 seconds left to give Dietrich a 57-52 win over Genesee for third place. Krista Green scored 17 for Dietrich.
Crystal Permann’s 14, including a layin with just less than 4 seconds, led Rockland to a fourth-place finish with a 45-43 win over Raft River.
Pauline Hegerhurst and Mikal Christiansen scored 13 apiece as Rimrock defeated Cambridge for the consolation title 50-38.
