State Conservationist Retiring From Post
Washington’s state conservationist, Lynn Brown, announced Tuesday that he would retire from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Brown has worked for the USDA for 38 years and served as the state’s lead conservationist since 1979.
During his 18 years in Washington, Brown directed conservation projects including rehabilitation of public lands after the Mt. St. Helen’s eruption, and after fires throughout Eastern Washington.
Frank Easter, watershed planning team leader for the NRCS, will serve as state conservationist until the position can be filled.
