Deputies Studying Snowmobile Wreck

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a snowmobile accident about 20 miles east of the city that left a Coeur d’Alene man in intensive care.

Randolph D. Severson, 29, crashed his snowmobile Sunday evening in the Deception Creek area. He was taken to Kootenai Medical Center with head and facial injuries, said Kootenai County sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Soumas.

Kootenai Medical Center admitted Severson to the intensive care unit and listed him in fair condition Monday afternoon.

Deputies still are investigating the cause of the accident, which happened about 5:15 p.m. Severson was injured when his snowmobile left the trail, Soumas said.
