Actor Willis’ Lawsuit Settled
A lawsuit alleging actor Bruce Willis’ companies were late on the final payment for the Soldier Mountain ski area has been settled within a few days of filing.
“It basically was an unnecessary lawsuit,” said Ned Williamson, attorney for Soldier Mountain Inc., a Willis corporation. “The full amount due plus interest has been paid.”
Willis, wife Demi Moore, and their children live near Hailey in Blaine County.
The lawsuit was filed Monday in 5th District Court in Camas County by Snow Inc., the former owners of Soldier Mountain, against Soldier Mountain Inc. and another Willis company, Valley Entertainment Group.
Snow Inc. claimed the corporations defaulted on the most recent payment, due Jan. 5, for the 1996 purchase of Soldier Mountain, a 1,200-acre ski resort northwest of Fairfield.
The purchase price was $850,000 and the late payment was the final one, Valley Entertainment president Michelle McElroy said.
Snow Inc. parties, Don and Kristi Schiermeier, were notified before the Jan. 5 due date the payment would late, Williamson said, adding the lawsuit came as a total surprise.
Kristi Schiermeier declined to disclose the amount of the payment.
