Produce expected to be available this week at area farmer’s markets (shop early for best selection):
Spokane MarketPlace (Wednesdays and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., First and Jefferson downtown): Various lettuces (including bibb, butter crunch and oak leaf), salad mix, assorted herbs (available cut to order), radishes, green onions, sugar snap peas, green beans, purple beans, cucumbers, spinach, garlic, mushrooms, mustard greens, bok choy, chard, red and blue curly kale, leeks, assorted peppers (bell, sweet and hot), tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, potatoes (red and white), kohlrabi, carrots, red beets, broccoli, corn, edible flowers, honey, cherries, raspberries, apricots, peaches, plums (red and Chinese yellow), watermelon, cantaloupe.
Kootenai County Farmer’s Market (Saturdays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Highway 95 and Prairie Avenue in Coeur d’Alene): Potatoes, cucumbers, zucchini/summer squash, onions (sweet and green), carrots, various lettuces and salad mixes, cabbage, kohlrabi, chard, spinach, bok choy, assorted herbs, snap beans, bell peppers, hot peppers, beets, garlic, shallots, celery, huckleberries, blueberries, gooseberries, black currants, peaches, plums, apricots, apples.
Sandpoint Farmer’s Market (Wednesdays 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon, at Farmin Park, Third and Main): Various lettuces, salad mix, radishes, baby green onions, assorted herbs, edible flowers, new potatoes, sugar snap peas, broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi, various cucumbers (slicing, pickling, lemon), garlic, cabbage, green peppers, baby eggplant, baby summer squash, baby carrots, turnips, raspberries and blueberries.
