Boxer Pernell “Sweetpea” Whitaker apparently has again tested positive for cocaine, which could be the knockout blow to his 14-year professional career.

Whitaker’s co-manager, Shelly Finkel, said Wednesday he was informed by lawyer Pat English that Whitaker failed a drug test last week. A second source who asked not to be identified confirmed the positive result.

The positive test likely will scuttle Whitaker’s multimillion-dollar April 25 fight with World Boxing Association champion Ike Quartey.
