Gte Plans To Repair Hauser Lake Phones

Several Hauser Lake homes will be without phone service next Wednesday while technicians repair a switch damaged by a lightning strike.

The outage will affect residents along Hauser Lake Road and East Hauser Lake Road. Phone service, including 911 service, will be interrupted from 11 p.m. to midnight, GTE officials said.

Cellular telephones will not be affected.

Residents are asked to go to the Hauser Lake Fire Department, 6345 West Hauser Lake Road, or contact the GTE crew if an emergency occurs. The crew will have a cellular phone.

The damaged switch still is operational, but the backup feature does not work, GTE said.
