Voter Turnout Down In Cda Levy Election
About 2,000 fewer Coeur d’Alene voters turned out for this week’s levy election than in 1996.
Voters approved the four-year, $19.81 million levy Tuesday by 77.61 percent, with 6,475 voters casting ballots.
The 1996 levy, which paid for Woodlands Middle School, was approved by 61.97 percent of the 8,582 voters.
Tuesday’s levy will fund major renovations at Coeur d’Alene High School, construction of an elementary school, remodeling of Dalton Gardens Elementary School and $2.4 million in other facility needs.
