Post Falls Residents Voted In Wrong Zone

From Staff Reports

Four Post Falls residents voted in the wrong zone in last week’s school board election, school officials said Tuesday.

“Certainly it’s something that concerns us,” district business manager Sid Armstrong said. “We provide training to the people who run our elections and we certainly hope all the steps are followed each time. But there’s always a possibility for an error.”

The four voters cast their ballots at Prairie View Elementary School, which is in Zone 2, instead of at Frederick Post Kinder Center in Zone 3, Armstrong said.

Incumbent Richard Wallace defeated Ted Corder 115 to 106 in the Zone 3 race.

“Even if all four of those people had voted for the person who lost, he still would have been five votes short,” Armstrong said.

He said the district has no plans to recall the election.
