Spotlight: Orienteering

If you’re a hiker or a walker and have been looking for a way to add some spark to your outings, you may like to give orienteering a try.

The sport combines hiking/walking with map and compass work and it is a timed event.

The Eastern Washington Orienteering Club, which puts on competitions on a regular basis in the Spokane area, has one scheduled Sunday at Manito Park off 18th and Grand. Registration is from 1-3 p.m. Instruction is provided for beginners.
