Schools Get Grants For Computer Training

The Riverbend Professional Technical Academy and the St. Maries and Boundary County School Districts received $91,090 in grants Monday from the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation for technical training.

The newly formed Riverbend Academy, at North Idaho College’s Workforce Training Center, was awarded $38,340. The school serves students from the Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Lakeland districts.

The St. Maries School District received $27,150, and the Boundary County School District got $25,600.

The grants are part of a $1.8 million award from the Albertson Foundation to the Idaho Division of Vocational Education to better train students for computer careers.
