Idaho Trust Co. Has added the following people to its staff:

Dale Schuman joined the company as executive vice president and senior wealth adviser and as a member of its board of directors. His responsibilities include maintaining client development and contacts, developing business growth and management policies and participating in the management of day-to-day operations. Schuman previously was an estate planning and merger and acquisition attorney with the Tacoma law firm of Bonneville, Viert, Morton & McGoldrick P.S. he has 15 years of experience in his field and was a principal with the Tacoma law firm.

Michael Barcelo was hired as an investment officer. He has more than 20 years of investment management experience and previously was treasurer of an insurance company, where he served as chairman of the investment and finance committees. Barcelo is a chartered financial analyst and has served as president and a board member of the Spokane Society of Financial Analysts.

Dr. John Thomas Rulon has been elected to the board of directors of MSC/Premera Blue Cross. A consultant to the Spokane Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic P.S., Rulon is a former president of the Spokane Medical Society and was named Spokane’s “Physician of the Year” in 1975. He earned his medical degree at McGill University in Montreal and completed a residency in otolaryngology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Rulon has been an active member of Spokane’s medical community for more than 35 years.

John Dorsey has joined Global Credit Union as vice president of finance and chief financial officer. Dorsey, who has 22 years of professional experience in the financial industry, previously spent five years as president of Montana Educators’ Credit Union. Earlier, he was president of Missoula Federal Credit Union, vice president of Telco Community Credit Union in Tacoma and a principal examiner with the National Credit Union Administration. He is a certified public accountant with a degree in business administration from Auburn University and a master of business administration from Boston University.

Moving up:

Jacklin Seed has promoted Brandie Chapman to manager of public relations/advertising for Simplot Turf and Horticulture. She was previously assistant manager of public relations and advertising. Chapman will oversee all public relations and advertising activities and distributor marketing issues for Jacklin Seed, JacklinGolf and Medalist America. She also will coordinate many of the activities for Jacklin Seed’s biannual Discovery Tour and Medalist America’s biannual MedFest. She earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Idaho and was a national traveling consultant for Kappa Kappa Gamma before joining Jacklin Seed in 1994.

Transactions:

Spokane accountant Don Rodman has reached an agreement to become affiliated with Bridge21, a national brand name of computer consultants. Rodman’s firm will now offer Accounting On-Line, QuickBooks installation and consultation, Web site development, Internet order entry and evaulation of Y2K risk and need. Rodman, who has been in business in the Spokane area for 21 years, is a certified public accountant who received an MBA from Eastern Washington University.

Elected:

Eve Knudtsen-Benedict of Knudtsen Chevrolet and Sally Wilber of Aesthetic SurgiCare, both in Coeur d’Alene, have joined the board of the Inland Northwest Better Business Bureau for a three-year term. Knudtsen-Benedict will assist the bureau in setting up and maintaining advisory boards in Moscow/Pullman, Lewiston/Clarkston and the Sandpoint/Newport areas. Wilber will share her expertise in several areas, including an upcoming customer service seminar series. Officers of the organization for 1999-2000 include: John Omlin, Omlin, Gunning and Associates, chair; Mark Keas, MDI Marketing, vice chair; Marlene Anderson, The Spokesman-Review, secretary; Bill Storms, KHQ-TV, treasurer; and Steve Matthews, Phillabaum, Ledlin & Matthews, immediate past chair.

John Bennett, business manager of Shearer Lumber in Grangeville, Idaho, has been elected president of the Timber Products Manufacturers Association. He replaces Nep Lynch of Missoula. Other new TPM officers include: Todd Johnson, Pyramid Mountain Lumber, vice president; Earl DeFur, SonByrd Industries, treasurer; and Larry Carroll, TPM, secretary/assistant treasurer.

Kudos:

A new “badge” logo created by Wendt Communications for Travel Montana, the state’s tourism office, has been chosen to to be included in “Print’s Regional Design Annual/ 1999.” The logo was chosen from among nearly 35,000 graphic communication entries submitted from around the nation. Wendt art director Joe Stein created the logo.

A print entitled “Footsie Tootsies” by Michael Wade of Anastasia’s Portrait Design was accepted into the grand collection of the 108th International Exposition of Professional Photography. The print was displayed in Atlanta, Ga., last month in conjunction with the Professional Photographers of America international convention. More than 6,000 images were submitted to PPA for entry into the exhibition.
