Exercise Your Civil Rights

Five bands will perform at The Met Saturday in a benefit concert to raise money for two Spokane civil rights organizations.

Coyote X, Rondo, Sol Fuse, Tongue-n-Groove and the Vibetribe Project will play the all-ages show. The proceeds benefit the Peace and Justice Action League and the Center for Justice. The bands play a range of music - folk, funk, rock and dub. Coyote X is a Native American band from Coulee, Wash. that plays heavy power rock. The other bands are from the Spokane area. Sol Fuse plays funky alternative folk, Rondo is acoustic folk with a message and Tongue in Groove dishes out funk and features a horn section.

The Vibetribe Project is an experimental group that opens the show at 5:30 p.m. with a mix of reggae, dub, funk, trance and even some dancing and performance art.

Concert-goers are invited to bring a percussion instrument and join in a jam session grand finale. The doors open at 4 p.m. The show starts at 5:30 p.m. admission is $15. Children younger than 12 get in for free with a parent.
