UI Promotes Grid Assistant
University of Idaho offensive coordinator Phil Earley has been elevated to assistant head football coach.
Earley will retain his duties as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, head coach Chris Tormey said Wednesday.
Tormey also hired Charlie Camp, a graduate assistant in 1998, as defensive ends coach. Camp’s hiring created the following changes on the defensive staff: coordinator Jeff Mills will work with defensive tackles and noseguards, and Kim McCloud will work with the secondary.
Rick Courtright remains linebackers coach.
With Earley as offensive coordinator last season, the Big West Conference and Humanitarian Bowl champion Vandals averaged 446.5 yards per game.
