Applications Due For Writing Workshop

From Staff

Applications are due soon for a summer writing workshop at Albertson College in Caldwell.

Selected high school juniors and seniors, as well as science, English and language arts teachers can participate in the Whittenberger Writing Projects.

The 12-day seminar, which has been running for 16 summers, will feature photojournalist Glenn Oakley; biologist, writer and essayist Susan Tweit; and Utah’s Poet Laureate David Lee.

The teachers’ program includes biologist and author Bernd Heinrich; and poet, musician and storyteller Barre Toelken.

Students in both workshops will study Idaho’s natural heritage through fiction, poetry, photography, journals and essays.

Students also will go on field trips and attend readings and discussions.

Applications are due March 5 for the program, which runs June 13-25 for students and June 20-26 for teachers.
