Fly fishing schools

Spokane-area fly fishers will continue their tradition of presenting organized and affordable fly fishing instruction during the winter season with the following courses:

Basic fly fishing and fly casting by Dave Holmes and Clay Findlay, runs Monday evenings, Jan. 25-March 8, at Ferris High School. Cost: $50, equipment is provided. Pre-register through the Institute for Extended Learning, 533-3770.

Basic fly tying with Dick O’Dell, runs Monday evenings, Jan. 25-March 15, at Rogers High School. Cost: $35, plus students need their own equipment and materials. Pre-register through IEL, 533-3770.

Fly fishing school taught by members of the Spokane Fly Fishers, runs Wednesday evenings, Feb. 17-March 24, at the Teacher’s Credit Union, plus three Saturday casting sessions. Cost: $60 for adults, $40 for youths 16 and under. Pre-register with Jeff Voigt, 299-7419.
