Education Grants’ Deadlines Looming
Deadlines are approaching for teachers, schools and other community organizations interested in applying for Idaho Humanities Council grants.
Idaho elementary and secondary school teachers can receive up to $1,000 in the teacher incentive grant program for teaching humanities. The grants fund projects dealing with teaching history, literature and oral history. They also pay to send teachers to conferences.
Applications for that grant are due Sept. 15.
A larger grant is available to community organizations and schools interested in undertaking bigger educational projects. Applications are due Aug. 15.
Examples of projects funded by the two grants can be seen at www2.state.id.us/ihc.
The Idaho Humanities Council also funds community organizations studying local history, literature, archaeology, philosophy, comparative religions, law and other fields. Finished proposals for that grant are due Sept. 15 or Jan. 15, 2000, for the second round of funding.
