Ruby Hoyt Post Falls

Service for Ruby E. Hoyt, 88, will be today at 10:30 a.m. at Coeur d’Alene Church of the Nazarene. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hoyt, who was born in Hammond, Wis., died Saturday.

She grew up in Hammond and New York.

In 1936 she married Ralph Hoyt. She lived in Ohio and Utah and was a homemaker.

She moved to Coeur d’Alene in the early 1970s.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, the Gideon Auxiliary and spent winters in Arizona.

Her husband died in 1984.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Dougall of Post Falls; two grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

Terry Jones Spokane

Funeral for Terry Lee (Moore) Jones, 52, will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel on the grounds of Fairmount Memorial Park. Burial will follow at the cemetery. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 34-year Spokane resident, Miss Jones died May 26. She was born in Coeur d’Alene.

Miss Jones was active at Center Pointe and the West Central Community Center.

Survivors include her parents, June and Ralph Jones; and a brother, Robert Jones.

Fairy McKee Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Fairy Mae McKee, 79, will be today at Hutchison and Carnes Colonial Chapel in Marysville, Calif. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. McKee, who was born in Collbran, Colo., died Friday.

She lived in California and married Raymond “Nick” McKee in 1939. She worked as a postmaster for the Postal Service before retiring in 1982.

Mrs. McKee moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1994.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Judith Stoner of Chattaroy; and three grandchildren, Diana, Greg, and Allison.

Dora White Ritzville, Wash.

Funeral for Dora M. White, 87, was Tuesday at Ritzville Nazarene Church. Burial was at Cheyenne (Wyo.) Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. White, who was born in Endicott, Neb., died Thursday.

She married Melvin Breazeale in 1931. He died in 1961. In 1962 she married Vernon White.

Mrs. White was a homemaker. She moved to Ritzville from Cheyenne in 1964.

Survivors include five sons, Danny Breazeale of Ritzville, Randy Breazeale of Grants Pass, Ore., Bill, Mervin and David Breazeale, all of Cheyenne; four daughters, Wilma Burkett of Cheyenne, Colleen Krahn of Portland, Melva Hull of Coeur d’Alene and Candace Breazeale of Tacoma; 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Ora (Culbert) Lowder Spokane

Funeral for Ora E. (Culbert) Lowder, 89, is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick.

Born in Othello, Wash., Mrs. Lowder died May 24.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Lowder served as president of the Kootenai American Legion Auxiliary Post 14 in Coeur d’Alene for many years and as secretary for Post 31 in Bend, Ore., for several years. She returned to the Spokane area a few years ago.

In 1950 she became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Sylvester Rohlinger and Thomas Lowder.

Survivors include a son, Delbert Rohlinger; three daughters, DeLoris Derhak, Gail Moore, and Constance Martinez; a foster son, Francis Peine; three stepchildren; a sister, Opal Young; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Charles Plum Coeur d’Alene

Graveside service for Charles D. Plum, 77, will be at 1 p.m. today at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Plum, who was born in Lewistown, Mont., died Sunday.

He married Donna Morgan in 1948 and lived in various cities in North Idaho and Eastern Washington and settled in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where he owned Plum Chevrolet.

Mr. Plum moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1973 and owned Midtown Motors.

He was a former member of the Idaho Auto Dealers Association, Coeur d’Alene Toastmasters, the Coeur d’Alene Elks Lodge and the Bonners Ferry Lions Club.

He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity at the University of Washington.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Valerie Clay of Kirkland, Wash., Anita Foust and Judy Wages, both of Bonners Ferry, and Nancy DuBeau of Issaquah, Wash.; a son, Jon Plum of Hayden Lake, Idaho; a sister, Frances Bjustrom of Lewiston; a brother, Richard Plum of California; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or the Kootenai County Humane Society.

Virginia Raschke Athol, Idaho

Memorial service for Virginia Alta Raschke, 79, will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at a private home. Contact English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene for details.

Mrs. Raschke, who was born in Manhattan, N.Y., died Thursday.

She lived in Long Island, N.Y., and worked as an air traffic controller until moving to Sacramento, Calif. in 1966, where she worked for the Postal Service.

She retired from the Postal Service in 1985 and settled in Bremerton. She moved to Athol in 1995.

She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Silverdale, Wash., and was a Ham radio operator.

Mrs. Raschke is survived by three sons, Greg and Bruce Raschke, both of Athol, and Wayne Raschke of Port Orchard, Wash.; a daughter, Dian Johnson of Arizona; a brother, Robert Simms of Arizona; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Alice Morse Sandpoint

Service for Alice M. Morse, 92, will be today at 1 p.m. at Coffelt Funeral Chapel in Sandpoint. Burial will follow at Seneacquoteen Cemetery near Sandpoint.

Mrs. Morse, who was born in Finley, Wash., died Friday.

She moved to the Vay-Edgemere area near Sandpoint in 1909 and attended the Edgemere School. In 1925 she married Ben Morse.

Mrs. Morse moved to Sandpoint in 1968 and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth Ulinder Potlatch, Idaho

Memorial service for Ruth R. Ulinder, 89, will be at 11 a.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church in Potlatch. Inurnment will be at the Potlatch Cemetery. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ulinder, who was born in San Diego, died Friday.

She moved to the Inland Northwest with her family, attending several schools before graduating from Elk River (Idaho) High School in 1928.

In 1929 she married Henry Ulinder. They moved to Potlatch in 1934.

Mrs. Ulinder was a homemaker and a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Potlatch Chapter 48 of the Order of Eastern Star and the Rock Creek Grange which she served as an officer in the Idaho State Grange.

She served on the Latah County Library Board and worked as a librarian for a short time in Potlatch in the 1950s and ‘60s. She also served as a volunteer chair for the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include a son, John Ulinder of Potlatch; two daughters, Vera Hutcheson of Juliaetta, Idaho, and Shirley Carlson of Jefferson City, Mont.; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Regina Hull Sandpoint

Graveside service for Regina C. Hull, 93, was Tuesday at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hull, who was born in Valentine, Neb., died May 26.

She began a teaching career in Nebraska and married Troy Hull in 1935.

Mrs. Hull moved to the Nordman, Idaho, area in 1941 and taught school in the Idaho cities of Thama Ferry, Squaw Valley, Newman and Sagle.

She moved to Sandpoint in 1961 and worked at Bonner General Hospital and Sandpoint Manor until her retirement. She was also a volunteer at the Sandpoint Senior Center for many years.

Mrs. Hull spent winters in New Mexico after her retirement and was active at the Sandpoint Eagles Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy.

Survivors include a son, Daniel Hull of Sandpoint; three daughters, Zelma Brisboy of Sagle, Lona Payment of Kenai, Alaska, and Linda Derr of Sandpoint; a sister, Christina Jarchow of New Mexico; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Glenn Dyer Spokane

Visitation for Glenn H. Dyer, 77, will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Opportunity Christian Center. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.

A 47-year Spokane resident, Mr. Dyer died Friday. He was born in Elk.

Mr. Dyer worked as a construction foreman at the Newman Lake, Rockford and Davenport, Wash., missile sites.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 73 since 1957 and was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Survivors include his wife, Fern; a brother, Kenneth Dyer of Spokane; and a sister, Edna Smith of Coeur d’Alene.

Kathleen Duthie Spokane

Funeral for Kathleen K. Duthie, 70, will be at 11 a.m. today at Pines Baptist Church. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Duthie, who was born in Laurenberg, N.C., died Sunday.

She graduated from McColl (S.C.) High School and married Donald Duthie.

They moved to Coeur d’Alene, where she attended North Idaho College.

Mrs. Duthie worked at Montgomery Ward in Coeur d’Alene for several years before moving to Spokane in 1963.

She then worked as an Avon representative and as a warranty claims clerk at Spokane Lincoln Mercury.

Mrs. Duthie was active with the Parent Teacher Association and received the Acorn Award. She was also active with the American Business Women’s Association, Willow Breeze Chapter, and was a member of Pines Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.

Her husband of 49 years, Donald, died in 1995.

Survivors include seven children, Millard Duthie of Coeur d’Alene, Don’alene Gross of Seattle, Richard Duthie and Marvaleen Duthie, both of Fairbanks, Alaska, Max Duthie of Palm City, Fla., Jacquelyn Laurich and Maria Duthie, both of Spokane; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mabel Herzog Harvard, Idaho

Graveside service for Mabel A. Herzog, 86, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Freeze Cemetery north of Potlatch, Idaho. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Herzog, who was born in Canyon, Wash., died Thursday.

She moved to Potlatch with her family, where she attended schools.

In 1929 she married Harry Gillett. He died in 1947.

In 1949 she married Frank Herzog. He died in 1990.

Mrs. Herzog was a homemaker and lived in Harvard, Idaho for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Louis Gillett of LaMirada, Calif., and James Gillett of Port Orchard, Wash.; a brother, Levi Vassar of Longview, Wash.; a sister, Lois Shero of Hoquiam, Wash.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund or the Harvard Ladies Aid.

Mary Thorman Coeur d’Alene

Service and visitation for Mary Ann Thorman was Tuesday at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Thorman, who was born in Osgood, Idaho, died Friday. She was 80.

She married Albert Thorman in 1940 and moved to North Idaho in 1959. She settled in Coeur d’Alene in 1967.

Mrs. Thorman was a farmer and had traveled extensively throughout the world.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Albert Thorman Jr. of Coeur d’Alene; four daughters, Elinor Snyder of Great Falls, Mont., Phyllis Bender of Coeur d’Alene, Joyce Arthur of Algona, Wash., and Louise Weed of Coeur d’Alene; a sister, Della Cooper of Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Roy Johnson Spokane

Private family service for Roy L. Johnson, 60, will be held at a later date. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Johnson, who was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, died Thursday.

He worked for the Spokane County Roads Repair Department for many years.

Mr. Johnson was a longtime member and served as an elder at Sunrise Church of Christ in Spokane.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; a son, Mark Johnson of Spokane; two daughters, Rhonda Clouse of Deer Park and Lori Steele of Spokane; two sisters, Valejo Rogness of Coeur d’Alene and Violet Harding of Spokane; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Frank Swofford Spokane

No service will be held for Frank D. Swofford, 96, at his request. Inurnment will be at the family plot at Fairmount Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Swofford, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Friday.

He retired from working for Potlatch Forests Inc. in 1968 and moved to Spokane.

His wife, Hattie, died in 1994.

Survivors include a daughter, Leatha Swofford Walton of Spokane; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
