Squad Detonates Explosive Device
Members of Spokane’s city-county bomb squad detonated an explosive device found Wednesday in a restroom holding tank at the English Point Recreation Area.
A Huber’s Sanitation employee found the device while pumping waste from the men’s restroom about 10 a.m. at the recreation area near Lancaster Road and English Point Road, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies said the device was about 8 inches long and 3 inches wide, was completely wrapped in duct tape and had a 3-inch fuse protruding from it. The fuse appeared to have been lighted at one time.
Bomb squad members destroyed the device about 1 p.m. No one was injured.
