Police Extend Hours For Fingerprinting
The Coeur d’Alene Police Department temporarily has extended its hours to fingerprint city day-care providers.
Under an ordinance governing day-care facilities adopted Tuesday by the City Council, all day-care providers in the city are required to be fingerprinted by police by next Wednesday for background checks.
City officials estimate there are about 60 day-care facilities around Coeur d’Alene.
In response to the demand, the Police Department’s records division, located at City Hall, will remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
