NEW FACES:

Nicole Altenburg has joined ICM Asset Management Inc. as corporate controller. Altenburg will oversee the firm’s accounting department and also will focus on corporate financial planning. She previously worked for 10 years at the Spokane branch of Moss Adams, where she managed the audit department. Earlier, she worked in the tax department of Arthur Andersen & Co. in Seattle. Altenburg is registered as a certified public accountant in Washington and Montana.

Klundt Hosmer Design has hired Henry Ortega as graphic designer. He previously held a design position at a Coeur d’Alene agency. Ortega, who is a 1990 graduate of Ce-Art Institute in Bogata, Colombia, worked for five years as a graphic and package designer in Colombia. He moved to the United States in 1995 and graduated from Spokane Falls Community College in 1998. At Klundt Hosmer, he will produce graphic design and digital production for various corporate clients. His language skills also will be used in translating and proofing the firm’s Spanish language advertising, print collateral and Web site projects.

Moss Adams LLP has added the following people to its staff:

Scott Martin was hired as a manager in the Valuation Services Group of Moss Adams Advisory Services. His duties include developing and growing the valuation practice in Spokane, North Idaho and western Montana. Martin, a University of Washington graduate, previously was chief financial officer and a valuation specialist with Windswept Capital in Seattle.

Chris Benenson was named a human resources consultant in Moss Adams’ HR Consulting Department. Benenson attended Spalding College in Louisville, Ky., and took graduate course work at Earlham College in Richmond, Ind. She previously worked for a local human resources company. Benenson, who is certified as a professional in human resources, has nine years of experience in consulting and management.

Mary Pedersen Gaston has joined the Spokane law office of Perkins Coie LLP as an associate in the Public Finance Department. Her practice will focus on municipal litigation, municipal bond law and municipal securities law. Prior to joining Perkins Coie, she was a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Justin L. Quackenbush and in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington. She received a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Eastern Washington University and a law degree from the Gonzaga University School of Law.

Edward A. Hunton has joined the Spokane office of PaineWebber Inc. as an account vice president. Hunton attended Spokane Falls Community College and Gonzaga University before moving to Seattle in 1989. He has worked as an investment consultant since then, most recently in the Seattle office of Everen Securities.

KUDOS:

Jonna Yates, a financial advisor with the Spokane office of American Express Financial Advisors, has received the President’s Recognition Award. The award recognizes advisors who have made quality of advice a priority in their practice and document their written advice in a way that is clear, specific, thorough and objective.

Illinois-based Acme Packaging Corp. has named J.R. Stanley of Spokane as western regional Salesperson of the Year. Stanley was honored at the company’s national sales meeting in Chicago.

The Spokane Falls Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association has elected the following officers for 1999-2000: President, Diana West; vice president, Julie Delaney; secretary, Irene LaBounty; and treasurer, Sherrie Templeton.

Charlotte Hardt, assistant director of the Area Health Education Center at Washington State University at Spokane and adjunct faculty in the WSU Spokane Health Policy and Administration graduate program, has been chosen as president-elect of the National Rural Health Association. Hardt has served on the board of trustees and the rural health policy board as chair of the State Association Council since 1994.
