Sheriff’s deputies suspect a bullet blasted through a pickup window Wednesday morning while a Rathdrum woman drove along Prairie Avenue.

Marcelene Tensen, 44, was not injured when the bullet pierced the passenger-side window of her 1994 Dodge truck after she crossed Huetter Road on Prairie Avenue. Tensen told a Kootenai County sheriff’s deputy she was driving east when she heard a loud pop.

Deputies found what appeared to be a bullet hole in the upper right corner of the window, but noticed no one else in the area.

Officers have not determined whether the bullet was fired intentionally at the woman’s truck or strayed from its intended target. Hunters and target shooters occasionally use the area.
