Zags Place Two On All-Tournament Team

As a reward for a great championship game in the West Regional, Connecticut and Gonzaga filled the All-Tournament team.

Richard Hamilton, a first-team All-American, lived up to his billing and was voted Most Outstanding Player.

Hamilton scored a game-high 21 points and limited Richie Frahm, Gonzaga’s leading scorer during the season, to seven points on 2-of-11 shooting.

“Look up in the dictionary for NBA player and you’ve got Hamilton,” Gonzaga coach Dan Monson said. “He does everything you want from a player.”

The UConn junior was joined by teammates Kevin Freeman and Ricky Moore.

Gonzaga’s picks were senior Quentin Hall and sophomore Casey Calvary.

“He’s a feisty individual,” Hamilton said of Hall. “He talked. That’s part of the game.”
