Grand Slam Helps Sasquatch Split

Missy Bonanno’s two-out grand slam in the fifth inning Saturday allowed Community Colleges of Spokane to defeat Walla Walla CC 9-5 and earn a doubleheader split.

WWCC (15-11 NWAACC) won the opener 8-2, scoring seven unearned runs to defeat Kylee Curry (14-4). The Sasquatch (21-5) steamed to a 4-0 first-inning lead in the second game. Sara Schumacher had an RBI double and Jessica Sackmann a two-run home run, both with two out. Angel Fairbanks of CCS added her fourth home run.
