A couple of volunteer opportunities for outdoors enthusiasts are coming up.

May 22, members of the Spokane Canoe and Kayak Club and Backpackers Club will join forces to clean the McLellan property on Long Lake as part of National River Cleanup Week.

June 5, on National Trails Day, REI will team up with the Mount Spokane Rangers to build a retaining wall and landscape the area around the CCC log cabin at Mount Spokane State Park from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. REI will provide water, lunch and a T-shirt to volunteers.
