Missing Woman Found Uninjured
A 75-year-old woman missing for several hours Thursday near Carlin Bay was found uninjured.
Search and rescue volunteers James Kraus and Benny Edmonds, both of Harrison, found Marion Carnes about four hours after she began picking mushrooms along Asbury Road, Kootenai County sheriff’s Lt. Skip Rapp said. Carnes was found crouched under a cedar tree out of the rain, and was reported to be in good condition.
Carlin Bay area residents and the Sheriff’s Department search and rescue team began looking for Carnes about 1 p.m. when a relative could not find her. Carnes had been dropped off along Asbury Road about 10:15 a.m. and did not returned to the spot when a relative came to pick her up two hours later.
