Strong Nominated For Moscow Fire Chief

From Staff Reports

Mayor Marshall Comstock has nominated Fire Marshal Don Strong to fill the chief’s post.

The $53,488 position has been vacant since February 1999 when fire chief Charles Lundfelt resigned after one year.

Strong has served as interim chief for the past four months and also for six months in 1997. When the City of Moscow conducted a nationwide search for chief in 1997, Strong had applied for the position and was a finalist, said City Supervisor Gary Riedner.

“His experience has increased since then and we are confident that he has the support of the department and the community to do an outstanding job,” Riedner said.
