Ex-Bus Driver Sues Cda School District
A former Coeur d’Alene school bus driver has filed suit against the district, claiming he was discriminated against while employed.
Alan Otzelberger is seeking more than $10,000 in damages.
In his civil complaint, filed Thursday in 1st District Court, Otzelberger claims he was not allowed to return to work after he successfully passed a physical exam.
In 1994, Otzelberger was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, a disorder with severe mood swings, according to the suit.
He said he successfully passed a mandatory two-year physical checkup in 1997, but the school district expressed concern about his medical status and asked the doctor to reconsider his findings.
The doctor then rescinded his approval of Otzelberger, the suit claims.
