A Cataldo man was charged with first-degree murder Friday after Shoshone County sheriff’s detectives were called to a home in Cataldo where a woman was found dead.

Russell Moore, 33, was charged with the crime after detectives were called to a Cataldo apartment, 40392 Riverview Drive, early Friday morning.

A 37-year-old woman was found dead at the residence, sheriff’s officials said.

Her identity has not been released.

At about 5:10 a.m., deputies responded to a call from the residence regarding a woman who was not breathing. When officers arrived, they discovered the woman was dead.

The Idaho State Police and the Bureau of Forensic Services were then called to help with the investigation.

Based on “indicators at the scene” and information from witnesses, Moore was arrested and booked into the Shoshone County Jail, according to a sheriff’s department statement.

Sheriff’s officials and the county coroner’s office refused to release additional information.
