Paul O’Connor Newberg, Ore.

Memorial service for A. Paul O’Connor, 79, will be at 2 p.m. today at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston.

Mr. O’Connor, who was born in Nezperce, Idaho, died Sunday.

He grew up in Lewiston and Nezperce and graduated from high school in 1938. He worked as a pianist for several area bands.

In the 1940s Mr. O’Connor moved to Kalispell, Mont., and continued a career as a musician. He married Dorothy Graham in 1942.

He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and then lived in Montana until moving to Long Beach, Calif., where he served with the Air Force from 1950 to 1951.

He settled in Reno, Nev., after his military discharge and worked as a musician while attending the University of Nevada at Reno. He returned to Montana in 1953 and worked as an accountant at Hungry Horse Dam and Plum Creek Lumber Co. and continued his musical career.

In 1960 he moved to Spokane and worked as an accountant for several area construction companies and later attended Kinman Business College. He worked as a musician in the evenings.

He retired in 1982 and served as the house pianist for Patsy Clark’s Mansion. He moved to Newberg in 1995 to be near family.

His wife died in 1979.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Smith and Laurie Henry, both of Spokane; a son, Greg O’Connor of Newberg; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Jeffrey Hahn Sr. Priest River, Idaho

Funeral for Jeffrey Lynn “Jeff” Hahn Sr., 49, will be at 1 p.m. today at the Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River. A reception will follow at the Newport (Wash.) Eagles. Private burial will be at the Newport Cemetery.

Mr. Hahn, who was born in Granite Falls, Minn., died Saturday.

He moved to Newport in 1957 and graduated from Newport High School in 1969.

In the 1970s Mr. Hahn moved to Priest River and worked as a logger.

He was a member of American Lutheran Church of Newport.

Survivors include his companion, Karen Brooks, two sons, Jeff Hahn Jr. and Damon Hahn, and a daughter, Tonya Hahn, all of Priest River; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Meeks of Post Falls; his parents, Alvin and Lois Hahn of Newport; two sisters, Janice York of Priest River and Jodi Gorton of Newman Lake; and four grandchildren.

Leatha Masters Spokane

Memorial service for longtime Spokane resident, Leatha Irene Masters, will be held at a later date. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Sandpoint, Mrs. Masters died last Wednesday. She was 87.

She graduated from Sandpoint High School and was a homemaker.

Her first husband, Ivan Lance, died in 1954. Her second husband, Orin Masters, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include four daughters, Suzanne Cornell and Sharon Destito, both of Spokane, Stephanie Warmuth of Newport, Ore., and Diane Maginot of Boulder, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Andrea `Drea’ (Machado) Wheeler Bayview, Idaho

Visitation for Andrea Maria “Drea” (Machado) Wheeler, 34, will be today from 10 a.m. until the noon service at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cocolalla, Idaho.

Mrs. Wheeler, who was born in San Mateo, Calif., died Friday in an automobile accident on U.S. Highway 95 near Chilco.

She had lived in California before moving to Tucson, Ariz. She settled in the Bayview area two years ago.

Mrs. Wheeler was an account executive for U.S. Products and was also attending North Idaho College.

She was involved in various sports and arts and crafts.

Survivors include three sons, Phelan O’Bryan of San Jose, Calif., and Trevor and Kyle Wheeler, both of Bayview; her mother, Olga Machado of Bayview; two brothers, Michael Machado of San Jose and Henry Machado of Careywood, Idaho; and her grandmother, Maria Machado of San Jose.

Ruth (Moran) Kaufman Spokane

Service for Ruth Helen (Moran) Kaufman, 70, will be at 1 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Kaufman, who was born in Armour, S.D., died Saturday.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Robert; a son, Bruce Kaufman of Spokane; three daughters, Jodie Hicks of Chattaroy, Heidi Arend of Richland and Debra Kaufman of Memphis, Tenn.; five sisters, Virginia Evans and Peggy Hinkley, both of Armour, Cecilia Hinkley of Blunt, S.D., Lucille Williams of Pinole, Calif., and Geri Dominguez of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Pat Moran of Parkston, S.D.; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.

Carrie Robarge McCleary, Wash.

Memorial service for Carrie M. Robarge, a former longtime Newport, Wash., resident, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport.

Mrs. Robarge, who was born and raised in Ione, Wash., died Sunday. She was 88.

She graduated from Metaline Falls (Wash.) High School in 1929.

Mrs. Robarge was a waitress in the Metaline Falls area for many years before marrying her husband, Leroy, in 1949. He died in 1986.

She had been living in McCleary for the past three years.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Purcell of Vancouver, Wash., Delbert Purcell of Priest River and John Robarge of Montesano, Wash.; two brothers, Walter Johnson of Ephrata, Wash., and Lloyde Johnson of Post Falls; and a sister, Mable Ronning of Culver, Ore.

James Brock Spokane

Memorial service for James Walter Brock, a longtime Spokane resident, was held Sunday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Brock, who was born in Heidleburg, Germany, died Saturday. He was 41.

He attended Gonzaga Preparatory High School and Gonzaga University.

Mr. Brock was the business manager of Brock’s Inc., a gunsmith business.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Andrew Brock; and his parents, James and Shirley Brock, and two sisters, Debbie Conery and Imae Brock Oaksford, all of Spokane.
