Fire Restrictions Broadened
The Idaho Department of Lands will increase fire restrictions on all lands statewide because of extreme fire danger.
Starting Friday at midnight, using a campfire or fire on any land except within a developed recreation site is prohibited. Smoking in wooded or uncleared areas is also prohibited.
Operating motorized vehicles off roads or trails, using tools that generate flames and operating chain saws or other motorized equipment are also banned from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. daily.
Exemptions are allowed for people with permits, logging operations on bare soil and people conducting such activities in areas where they are authorized.
