Election Date Set For New Library District
An election for a new library district in west Bonner County will be held Nov. 7, the Bonner County commissioners ordered Thursday.
Proponents of the new library district made their case during a public hearing Aug. 2.
The library district would raise tax dollars for library services for county residents in the Priest River area.
Oldtown and Blanchard would be excluded. Priest Lake, which formed its own library district last year, also is excluded from the proposed taxing district.
Supporters of the new library district delivered more than 200 signatures in favor of the proposal. They said increasing population and the demand for library services justify the formation of a library district.
Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Priest River City Hall, West Priest River Lamanna High School, Glue Lake Grange and Snow Valley Grange.
