Rathdrum Racer Goes Wire-To-Wire
Rathdrum’s Jeff Braton led wire-to-wire Saturday night in winning his first career Northwest Modified victory at Stateline Speedway.
Braton had to hold off the runner-up, Ephrata’s Josh Roberts, in the end when a pair of caution flags in the final 20 laps closed the field. Top qualifier Blaine Sneva of Spokane was third with Coeur d’Alene’s Lowell Stevens fourth and Doug Donner of Colville fifth in the 50 lap feature.
Coeur d’Alene’s Bill Currier continued on his tear, winning for the 17th time in 22 outings in the Hobby Stock class. Scott Perry won his third Street Stock main event of the season, and points leader Brian Nevers put more breathing room between himself Joe Owens with a fourth place finish.
Eric McClain of Tacoma was the winner in the visiting Vintage Modifieds, taking his second victory of the season.
