Gilpin’S 20 Help Ferris Win

Jennie Gilpin had a career-high 20 points and Ferris hit five of six free throws in overtime to pull out a 60-57 win at East Valley in the Greater Spokane League Tuesday night.
Gilpin hit three 3-pointers and a pair of 2-point baskets in the first quarter and the Saxons opened a 16-point lead in the second quarter. EV cut it to 10 at the half but still trailed by 11 entering the fourth quarter.
Sarah Shogren, who led EV with 18 points, had nine in the fourth quarter and Dawn Clift had all of her career high 15 in the second half.
Katie Foster had 14 points, including all six Ferris points in the fourth quarter and a late free throw to force OT after Clift banked in a 3 with 12 seconds left.
Courtney Lynn, who had 11 points, made two free throws with 10 seconds left to put the Saxons up by three and then Angie Clift made a steal to secure the win.

Tiana Maua and Sarah Bassett each had 12 points for LC, with Maua hitting four of six shots and all of her free throws.

Katie Gillum and Juliann Laney both had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Alisa Lewis scored 22 points as the visiting Bullpups pulled away in the third quarter.
Lewis hit nine of 18 shots and had eight rebounds, five on the offensive end.
