Multiple Injuries In 3-Car Accident

A Plummer, Idaho, youth was seriously injured after a car in which he was riding collided with another vehicle near Rockford Thursday afternoon, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The accident occurred a mile north of Rockford on state Highway 27.

Edward Carlson, 61, of Spokane, was southbound on Highway 27 in a 1993 Dodge Caravan. He collided with a northbound 1988 Pontiac Firebird driven by Juan J. Morales, 23, of Plummer.

A third car, a 1989 Plymouth Voyager driven by Tommy D. Andres, 39, of Potlatch, Idaho, then collided with the Firebird.

Steve D. Janson, 11, of Plummer, was a passenger in the Firebird and received internal injuries and a fractured pelvis.

He was listed in serious condition at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Misty R. Janson, 19, of Plummer, also a Firebird passenger, was taken to Sacred Heart for neck and back injuries.

Debra F. Cadle, 38, of Fairfield, a passenger in the Caravan, was taken to Sacred Heart for neck, head and leg pain.

Carlson was taken to Sacred Heart for broken bones, and Morales was taken to Sacred Heart for an elbow injury.

Andres was not injured.

All the occupants wore seat belts.
