Medical-Pot Advocate Gets Prison For Tests

A 52-year-old medical-marijuana advocate has been sent to prison after prosecutors complained she was not cooperative on drug tests.

Kathy Tadlock of Twin Falls was free on bond while her conviction on possession of marijuana with intent to deliver was appealed. As a condition of her release, Tadlock had to undergo regular drug tests.

Tadlock came up negative on the tests. But Twin Falls County Deputy Prosecutor Jill Sweesy asked for the bond to be revoked, saying she had been uncooperative during the tests and had not paid for any of them.

Last September, Magistrate Nathan Higer rejected Tadlock’s defense she had the marijuana for medicinal reasons.

Higer agreed she had “not been a model of cooperation.” He revoked her bond and she was taken into custody to begin serving her one-to-five-year prison sentence.

Troy Tadlock said his mother would embark on a hunger strike to protest her imprisonment.
