Duo From Symphony Quartet To Play With Guest Pianist

When is a quartet not a quartet? When violinist Kelly Farris and cellist John Marshall perform without their Spokane Quartet colleagues violinist Jane Blegen and violist Claire Keeble.

Farris and Marshall will perform Sunday with guest pianist Paul Ostrovsky playing Beethoven’s “Archduke” Trio, Op. 97 and Brahms’s Trio in B major, Op. 8. The Russian-born Ostrovsky was educated at the Moscow Conservatory and now teaches at the State University of New York at Purchase, N.Y.

Ostrovsky has performed widely in Europe, Asia and North America and was winner of the 1988 Gramophone Magazine Award for Chamber Music.
