Lewiston Can’T Stop Blackhawks

Ben Woodard scored 11 of his 20 points in the third quarter as Cheney topped visiting Lewiston 57-35 in a Border League boys basketball game, handing Blackhawks coach Denny Humphrey a significant win.

Humphrey’s career win No. 522 moved him into fifth place alone on Washington state’s all-time list. The other active coach on the top-five list, Centralia’s Ron Brown, is 10 wins ahead of Humphrey.

Woodard hit 9 of 10 field goals and combined with Seth Laughlin for 14 rebounds. Cheney’s Shon Volk added six assists.
