Lois Larson Pinehurst, Idaho

Memorial service for Lois R. Larson, 73, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kellogg Funeral Chapel. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Larson, who was born in Groton, S.D., and graduated from high school there, died Sunday.

In 1946 she married Inar Larson in Montana. They moved to the Silver Valley.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bill Larson of Pocatello, Idaho, and Einar Larson of Almira, Wash.; a daughter, Ruth Rubey of Ogden, Utah; a brother George Amsden Jr. of Kennewick; four sisters; Evelyn Dutt of Tolstoy, S.D., Gale Carmine of Bellevue, Neb., and Carol Morvee and Janie Riely, both of Douglas, Wyo.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Dorothy O’Donnell Spokane

Vigil service for Dorothy F. O’Donnell, a retired teacher and principal, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Graveside service is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Trentwood.

Miss O’Donnell, 92, died Saturday.

She was born on Pleasant Prairie and grew up on the family farm.

She graduated in 1925 from Holy Names Academy and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Cheney Normal School.

She began teaching elementary school in 1926. She became a principal in 1950 for the Spokane School District and was the first principal of Linwood Elementary. She retired from Ridgeview Elementary in 1973.

Survivors include a niece, Dorothy Bell of Spokane; and a nephew, John O’Neil of Mercer Island, Wash.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Poor Clare Nuns.

Vivian Sommers Spokane

Service for Vivian Q. Sommers, 91, will be at 2 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Sommers, who was born in Spokane died Sunday.

Her family lived in Newport for a short time before returning to Spokane.

She and her husband, Carl, took care of more than 30 foster children and later cared for senior citizens in their home.

Mrs. Sommers was a resident of Sunshine Gardens for the past 10 years.

She was a member of First Church of the Open Bible and its outreach ministry.

Her husband of 58 years died in 1988.

Survivors include a son, state Rep. Duane Sommers, and a daughter, Verniece Kubes, both of Spokane; a brother, Clark Peterson of Spokane; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Inland Northwest Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Bingo SiJohn Plummer, Idaho

Funeral Mass for Bingo SiJohn, 66, was Saturday at the Desmet (Idaho) Community Center. Burial followed at St. Michael Cemetery in Worley, Idaho.

Born in Worley, Miss SiJohn died Thursday.

She was a homemaker, and a member of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Desmet and the Coeur d’Alene Tribe of Indians.

Survivors include two sons, Nick and James Nicholai, both of Plummer; two daughters, Cindy LaDeaux of Plummer and Becky Dixon of Buffalo, N.Y.; her parents, Isaac SiJohn of Plummer and Sarah Tonasket of St. Maries; two brothers, Frankie SiJohn of Plummer and Merle SiJohn of Worley; three sisters, Inez SiJohn of Worley, and Gwen and Carol SiJohn, both of Plummer; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Carroll Coe Waverly

Service for Carroll Chester Coe, 93, will be at 1 p.m. today at Fairfield Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at the International Order of Odd Fellows Evergreen Cemetery in Rosalia, Wash. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Fairfield is in charge of arrangements.

A Waverly resident for 50 years, Mr. Coe died Friday. He was born in Plaza.

He attended schools in Rosalia, Wash., and Cheney and graduated from Cheney Normal School.

In 1929 he married Dorothy Hawthorne.

Mr. Coe taught in Hooper, Wash., during the 1930s. He then competed on the professional rodeo circuit.

He and his wife later purchased a cattle ranch north of Spokane, where they lived until 1953, when they moved to Waverly.

He returned to teaching and taught for the Liberty School District until retiring in 1972.

His wife died in 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Arden Holst of Los Angeles; a sister, Margaret Hoyt of Eugene, Ore.; and two granddaughters.

Harriet Tewinkel Gainesville, Fla.

Graveside service for Harriet Lorena Tewinkel, a former Spokane resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery in Rockford. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Tewinkel, 87, died July 11. She was born in Ford, Idaho.

She was a former 33-year Spokane resident and a homemaker.

Mrs. Tewinkel and her husband, Maurice, moved to Gainesville 10 years ago.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Peg Davidson of Gainesville; two brothers, Merle Kruse of Spokane and Howard Kruse of Helena; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Delmar McFeron Post Falls

Visitation for Delmar Lee McFeron Jr., 51, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Graveside service is set for 4 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls.

Mr. McFeron, who was born in Eureka, Calif, died Saturday from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.

He grew up in Coos Bay, Ore., and Santa Cruz., Calif. He graduated from high school in Santa Cruz, and attended Carbrillo Community College.

In 1973 he married Frankie Dawley in Coos Bay, Ore. They moved to Post Falls in 1980. Mr. McFeron started McFeron and Marcus Mineral Exploration Inc. that same year.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rob Carey of Germany and Joshua Dawley of San Diego; two daughters, Dondi Dawley of Portland and Penny McFeron of Pilot Mound, Iowa; a brother, Gary McFeron of Orlando, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

Vicki (Campbell) Jensen Spokane

Visitation for Vicki L. (Campbell) Jensen, 44, will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Jensen died Sunday.

She worked as a personnel clerk in the printing industry.

In 1998 she married William Jensen.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Joshua Hardy, and a daughter, BreAnne Carson, both of Spokane; her father, Robert Campbell of Spokane; a brother, Rick Campbell of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Noel Tinney Spokane

No service will be held for Noel R. Tinney, 71, at his request. The Neptune Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

A longtime Spokane resident, Mr. Tinney died Sunday. He was born in Polemic, W.Va.

He moved to Spokane in the 1950s. In 1958 he married Verna Helegson. They later divorced.

Mr. Tinney served in the Air Force for four years. He worked in the pot room at Kaiser Aluminum for 27 years and retired in 1982.

Mr. Tinney was a member of the United Steelworkers of America and the National Council of Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a son, Robert Tinney of Minnesota; four daughters, Karen Welch, Linda Dotter and Nola Carlson, all of Spokane, and Brenda Tinney of Minnesota; a brother, Gerald Tinney, and a sister, Dixie Shepherd, both of Florida; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Sister Josephine Mary Corrigan Spokane

Funeral Mass for Sister Josephine Mary Corrigan (Agnes Corrigan), SNJM, 88, will be at 10 a.m. today in the chapel at the Convent of the Holy Names. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Sister Josephine Mary died Saturday.

She entered the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary in 1932 and professed her vows in 1934.

She attended grade and high schools in Otis Orchards. She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Holy Names College and a master of education degree in administration, guidance and counseling from Gonzaga University.

She taught for more than 50 years in the Northwest. She began as a thirdand fourth-grade teacher and then a served as a superior and principal. She had also worked in the treasurer’s office at Fort Wright College. She later taught English as a second language. She also provided service within her religious community. She retired to the St. Joseph Care Center in 1998.

Sister Josephine Mary was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Trentwood.

She is survived by a brother, John Corrigan of Honolulu.
