Kempthorne’S Son Denies Allegation
Gov. Dirk Kempthorne’s teen age son has pleaded innocent to a misdemeanor citation for underage consumption of alcohol.
Kempthorne’s chief of staff, Phil Reberger, said on Thursday that Jeff Kempthorne, 19, was at a party at a private residence in Garden City on May 20 when he was cited for the violation by Garden City Police.
The city prosecutor’s office said a pre-trial conference has been set for late October.
The governor was in Hawaii, where the Western Governors Association met this week.
The misdemeanor citation carries a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine.
